The Nightmare Key is used on the chest located next to the Nightmare Shop NPC.
Below you will find the loottable for the Nightmare Chest with a Nightmare Key. The Nightmare Key also has an upgradeable Nightmare Key +. It's loottable is exactly the same, although the Nightmare Key + gives you the possibility to get the Nightmare Bow.
