Gems are special items that can be added to gear to increase equipment power. They are created and upgraded through the Salvage and Crafting skills and can provide damage, tribrid damage, or drop rate bonuses depending on the gem type.
<br><br>
Gems are an important long-term gear enhancement system because they allow players to improve their equipment beyond the item's normal stats.

Gems are items used on any equipable weapon, armor piece, aura, or any other equipment slot item. <br>

All gems give 1% per tier. For example, a tier 1 gem gives 1% increased damage or drop rate, while a tier 25 gem gives 25%.
You can put up to 3 Gems of any Tier & Style on each item & are removable with the Gem  Removal Chisel. <br>

Combining Gems
</div>
</div>

You can obtain higher tier gems by combining them at a percent chance to fail with some requiring Salvage Fragments as material. <br>
<!-- GEM TYPES -->

Gems require a certain Salvage level to upgrade:

Gem Removal Upgrade Chance
The player will need a Gem Removal Tool from the Salvage Shop to remove gems from gear. There is a chance for the removal to break the gem.
<div style="background:#0d2230; border:1px solid #1f4658; border-radius:4px; padding:12px; box-shadow:0 2px 8px rgba(0,0,0,.3); line-height:1.6; font-size:16px; margin-bottom:12px;">
Gems are added to gear through the Blacksmith's Gem Socketing interface. Players must first unlock gem slots on their gear using Salvage Fragments.
</div>

The chance to save a gem upon removal increases based on the player's Salvage level:

The Importance of Adding Gems to Gear Sockets
</div>
This information is brought to you by Karma. It can also be found in the Useful Tips section in the Redemption Discord.
</div>

As it seems there are a lot of people that do not know much about how the Salvage system works, here we will shortly explain why it is very OVERPOWERED.
<!-- SLOT COSTS -->

Salvage is a skill with a brand new system introduced to Redemption, it comes with it's own rotating shop and the ability to socket all equip-able items!
<div style="display:grid; grid-template-columns:repeat(2, minmax(260px, 1fr)); gap:12px; margin-bottom:12px;">

<u>Now why is this so good?:</u>
<div style="background:#07131b; border:1px solid #1f4658; border-radius:5px; overflow:hidden; box-shadow:0 2px 8px rgba(0,0,0,.3);">
<div style="background:#142536; color:#ffb347; font-weight:bold; padding:9px 12px; border-left:4px solid #00d9ff; border-bottom:1px solid #1f4658;">Damage Gem Slot Costs</div>
<div style="padding:10px 12px; overflow-x:auto;">

Range/Mage/Melee bonus % can be purchased for your customs: 10% (150$), 50% (600$), 100% (1100$) and 250% (2500$).

style="background:#0d2230; border-color:#1f4658;" | 1,000 fragments

Range/Mage/Melee bonus % can also be obtained through salvage by socketing your items, There are 14 items you can wear at once, all 14 items have 3 socket spots.
</div>
</div>

14 x 1st slot = 2100 salvage fragments (21 chunks of salvage)<br>
<div style="background:#07131b; border:1px solid #1f4658; border-radius:5px; overflow:hidden; box-shadow:0 2px 8px rgba(0,0,0,.3);">
14 x 2nd slot = 5600 salvage fragments (56 chunks of salvage)<br>
<div style="background:#142536; color:#ffb347; font-weight:bold; padding:9px 12px; border-left:4px solid #00d9ff; border-bottom:1px solid #1f4658;">Utility Gem Slot Costs</div>
14 x 3rd slot = 14000 salvage fragments (140 chunks of salvage)
<div style="padding:10px 12px; overflow-x:auto;">

This comes to a total of 21600 salvage fragments to unlock all 3 slots on each of the 14 gear slot items.

</div>
</div>

Each gem tier counts as 1% (tier 5= 5%, tier 13 = 13%)
</div>

<!-- REMOVING GEMS -->

Let's say you stock up a total of 42 tier 5 gems (5% Range/Mage/Melee bonus each)
<div style="background:#07131b; border:1px solid #1f4658; border-radius:5px; margin-bottom:16px; overflow:hidden; box-shadow:0 2px 8px rgba(0,0,0,.35);">

Removing Gems
</div>

If you put a tier 5 gem in each of the 3 slots on all 14 gear slots, this is how much bonus percentage you will receive:<br>
<div id="mw-customcollapsible-RemovingGems" class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" data-expandtext="" data-collapsetext="" style="padding:11px 14px;">
Slot #1: 14 Items x 5% = 70% total<br>
Slots #1 & 2: 14 Items x 10%(5% per slot) = 140% total<br>
Slots #1, 2, & 3: 14 Items x 15%(5% per slot) = 210% total

<div style="background:#0d2230; border:1px solid #1f4658; border-radius:4px; padding:12px; box-shadow:0 2px 8px rgba(0,0,0,.3); line-height:1.6; font-size:16px; margin-bottom:12px;">
Gems can be removed from gear using a Gem Removal Tool from the Salvage Shop at the Blacksmith's Gem Socketing interface. A higher Salvage level increases your chance of saving the gem during removal.
</div>

That is a total of over $2,000 worth of Range/Mage/Melee bonus in Custom Credit Scrolls!

Gems

Gems are special items that can be added to gear to increase equipment power. They are created and upgraded through the Salvage and Crafting skills and can provide damage, tribrid damage, or drop rate bonuses depending on the gem type.

Gems are an important long-term gear enhancement system because they allow players to improve their equipment beyond the item's normal stats.

All gems give 1% per tier. For example, a tier 1 gem gives 1% increased damage or drop rate, while a tier 25 gem gives 25%.

Getting Gems

Methods to Obtain Gems
Method Description
Shooting Star Obtain single combat style gems and drop rate gems from this event.
Gem Boxes Bountiful Gem Box, Mid Tier Gem Box, and High Tier Gem Box can be obtained from various monster drops.
Crafting Craft tribrid damage gems with single combat style gem fragments, and craft drop rate gems with drop rate fragments.

Types of Gems

Damage Gems
Single Combat Style
Increase melee, magic, or ranged damage depending on the gem type.
Tribrid Gems
All Combat Styles

Each gem tier gives 1% of its listed bonus, up to 25% at tier 25.
